We are aware that the farms must be visited and are attending to it as quickly as possible with the available staff. This is a enormous task and your patience is requested. We can assure you that no one will be prejudiced due to the delay.

The Municipality charges separate fees for sewerage tanks and the water-borne system because different connections are needed to enable the Municipality to deliver the required service.

A while back, at a municipal budget meeting in the Newton Hall, a very irate lady complained about the outrageous practice of the council to supply their office workers every Friday, with meals bought from Kospot. The treasurer informed us that this money was taken from the "entertainment" budget which, if my memory is correct, amounts to R350,000! A quick mental calculation on the presumption that there are at least 50 meals bought per week, gives the total spent on food for office workers at R104,000 per year. Now that is Ratepayers money! Why did the Ratepayers Association committee members not take this up with the finance officer there and then and support this lady? I could not attend this meeting as we were out of town and only heard about this incident recently. By keeping quiet, you as much as gave your consent for this appalling practice to continue!
